I love being at Origins; it's a truly massive con, and there's always great games to play at it. It's fantastic. On the other hand, I hate Origins' web presence. Car is still intact. Has lots of new parts in its undercarriage! Jennifer and I are okay. Expensive repair work complete.

Jen haz new toy. I haz new toys.

Jen's family still tolerable.

Thursday night I got on a bus and went to New York City. The trip was a positive delight.

Home again after a pleasant outing to visit pyrephox and have a wonderful chicken dinner at her place. Made it in, finally. Called off from even a half-day at work.

Report on the trip to come -- it was a delightful New Year's.

New Year's holiday was wonderful -- a real post later, when I get home. For now, I'm stuck about 90 miles west of home, with the snow and wind and cold killing any attempt to progress further.

Home at last. Traffic was nightmarish. It took close to 8 1/2-9 hours to make a trip that should've been done in about 5-5.5.

At least I have a late shift tomorrow and won't need to be in the office 'til 11:30 am.
